Winter Music Recital 2014

Robert and I did really well at our music recital today – I’m proud of us because we worked so hard to be prepared and to do well. I have been getting pretty nervous about playing in front of so many people, but I did great and I’m so relieved. I am in Sunshine 2 this year and it has been pretty challenging for me – some songs I’ve had to practise over and over again until I can play them well. It can be pretty frustrating! But I’m learning that hard work, determination and patience help me to accomplish anything I set my mind to. So even though it has been hard, I am doing really well and I really do LOVE making music! I played “Hark the Herald Angels Sing” and “Reach for the Stars” this recital. My school friends, Chelsea and Grace Anne were at the recital too; they are in different classes. It was really fun to have them there. I also finished writing my composition, it’s called “Fairy Dance”. It turned out really pretty, just like fairies are! I love the creative part of music and writing compositions is one of my favourite parts about music class – now I need to learn how to play it though, that’s a bit more of a challenge – but I know I can do it!
