Enjoying Our Last February Break

So Saskatchewan is apparently following the rest of the country and now that we are starting school after Sept. long weekend, they are going to be getting rid of February break. That’s the rumour anyway. So we thought we would celebrate our last February Break with style. Grandma Lorraine joined us for the week and we took a family trip to Edmonton. Great-Grandma and Great-Grandpa, Aunty Jenny, Ollie, Chari, Grandma Lorraine and us – what a fun time! We only went for three days, so we packed in as much as we could. We went straight to Ikea when we arrived – what a huge store! We enjoyed the play area and the yummy cinnamon buns! Then we checked into the hotel and enjoyed the pool. The next morning we ate as whatever we wanted at the awesome free breakfast – I’m sure Robert had about 5 pancakes, from the pancake making machine! Then we all headed out for an entire day at West Edmonton Mall. We took in some shopping, the sea lion show, the aquarium, and Galaxy Land. What a huge place and an exhausting day. Great Grandma and Great Grandpa treated us to a very yummy dinner at the Olive Garden and most of us filled up on endless salad and garlic bread! It was too late to swim that day and we were so exhausted that we all just went to bed. We took in a very fun morning swim, loaded up on breakfast again and then headed out to the Science Museum, what a cool place! Some of us went to the butterfly IMAX show while some others went to the Star Wars Identities exhibit. We could have spent a few more hours there, but it was getting late and we had to head home, so we called it a day. What a very fun trip! My favourite thing? Spending time with family – thanks for the wonderful memories. I’m going to miss February Break! Check out the pics.
